02 / The water initiative

The water beneath the surface.

Groundwater is a lifeline for roughly 97% of people in Bangladesh. Yet nearly half of tested wells have been reported above the WHO arsenic guideline of 10 μg/L. Flooding can further complicate safe-water access.

PureHusk is developing a lower-cost household filtration approach designed around locally relevant materials and practical upkeep.

PureHusk flow

Groundwater → adsorption → membrane → safer water goal

Stage 01 / Adsorption

Iron-modified rice husk ash

A replaceable Fe-RHA pouch is designed to bind dissolved arsenic as water passes through.

01
Stage 02 / Physical barrier

Hollow fiber membrane

A final membrane is designed to block solids, microorganisms, and fine rice-husk-ash silica particles.

02
Research in progress

The team plans to test flow rates, pH, and arsenic reduction with university labs using atomic spectrometry. The goal is water below the WHO 10 μg/L guideline; performance has not yet been verified.

03 / What drives us

Made by students.
Made for change.

KeebsforWater and PureHusk are founded and run by passionate high school students combining craft, engineering, and water research.

The model

100% of remaining profit to PureHusk.

Keyboard components and build quality come first. What remains supports filtration research, Fe-RHA media, membrane cartridges, and plans for local deployment in Bangladesh. No administrative allocation.
